Complete the form below to register for this year's Walking Wednesday's group. Starting Wed 7th Jan for 6 weeks. We will meet at Éire Óg at 6.55pm with the walk starting at 7pm sharp. 

Adults, accompanied children and dogs are welcome and the initiative is open to members and non members. A WhatsApp group will be used for group updates in case of cancellations due to weather etc

Our annual Club 5K walk will take place near the end of the challenge. Time and date tbc

 We request that all participants sign up to the Steps Challenge on the My Life app. The Steps Challenge runs from Jan 7th to Feb 11th and teams need to register a minimum of 4,000KM to qualify for the draw. 3 teams will win €2500, maybe this year will be our year!! Once on the app, register for the Munster Team Challenge, join the Éire Óg Inis group and select your method of tracking your steps. This ensures your activities will be counted for the club. Double Victory Celebration

 

Subject to sufficient interest, a bus will run to and from the Victory Celebration next Friday. Check your actual requirements before filling this form. If you do need transport, please fill the form by Wednesday evening the 7th of Jan. You may need only a lift down or only a lift back so please fill the form accordingly. 

 

Cost will depend on the numbers using the bus so we will confirm during the week but it shouldn't be more than €10 each way. The return bus will do a circuit of the town when dropping after the event.  Any queries to Assumpta 085 8795475

On a regular basis during 2026 we will do our best to help along members who might be trying to dust off their Irish, by providing some phrases which they might use in general conversation with friends, in the local shop, when dealing with officialdom etc.

 

So, to begin:

Athbhliain faoi mhaise duit means ‘Happy New Year to you’ and Go mba hé duit means ‘the same to you’.

 

Or you could say, ‘Bliain Nua faoi mhaise duit’  and another answer might be ‘An bail céanna ort.’ Same thing, just a different way of saying it.

Club Lotto

 

Club lotto jackpot is steadily rising and now stands at €6250. Last Thursday’s numbers were: 1, 15, 21 and 29. There was no Jackpot or Match 3 winner, 4 x Lucky Dips were picked with €25 each going to: Ruth McInerney, Margaret Skelly, Aileen Doohan and JJ Considine.
