We were deeply saddened to hear of the untimely passing of Tom Sheehan on Friday March 16th. Although a native of Beara, Cork, Tom, along with Deirdre and the girls, was deeply embedded in the Éire Óg Inis community playing many roles there down through the years, particularly with ladies football which he had a huge passion for. He was an avid supporter of the whole club and was involved in many fundraising events, even taking to the catwalk to strut his stuff for the club in 2012. He had a lot of passion for Éire Óg and Clare GAA but never forgot, or let any of us forget! his Cork roots.
We offer our deepest condolences to his wife Deirdre, daughters Tara, Aoife & Grainne, his family and to the many Éire Óg members across all facets of the club whom Tom was involved with down through the years.
Tom will repose at Kennedy’s from 5 to 7pm, tomorrow Sunday and will arrive to the Cathedral on Monday for requiem mass at 1pm, followed by cremation service at 3pm at the Shannon Crematorium.
Éire Óg will form a Guard of Honour, along with Tom’s Revenue colleagues, following mass on Monday, those wishing to take part are asked to meet at the main door of the church, wearing red if possible.
The senior hurling game fixed for Monday will now take place at 4.30pm, a minute’s silence will be observed for Tom before throw in. Tea and sandwiches will be served in the clubhouse following the game.
Rest in Peace Tom
