Plenty of activity this weekend as the last of our adult teams get their championships underway. Jason Carmody and the Junior C footballers are first out this evening followed by John Russell and the Intermediate camogie team. On Saturday afternoon its round 2 for our Junior B and Senior footballers while joint managers Pat McMahon/Tom Russell and the Junior C camogie team provide the evening entertainment in round 1. Sunday brings round 2 for the Junior A footballers and the ladies football Senior and Junior teams. Please note there is no stream for senior football this week, and no entry charge for Junior C GAA games. See poster above for all fixture details:

Congratulations to our Minor A hurlers, who continue to impress as they progress through the championship. This week they played out a physical hard-fought draw with Sixmilebridge, which was probably a fair result for both sides. It was a great team performance, with everyone chipping in and the lads showing tremendous fight and determination to battle right to the final whistle.
Well done also to our U17 Minor Academy hurlers, who had a good win over Kilmaley on Wednesday evening. This was a real panel effort, with plenty of players getting valuable game time and making their contribution.
Our U8 hurlers and footballers continue to take part in the Clare GAA blitzes, where they are getting plenty of opportunities to play and showcase how their skills are developing. It is great to see the enthusiasm and enjoyment from all our young players.
Our U10 boys and girls also had a fantastic time in Cusack Park, where they got the chance to show off their skills and then cheer on our senior hurlers. A great experience for our upcoming stars!
Next week, attention turns back to football. Our Minor A footballers take on Cratloe in Clonroadmore on Monday evening at 7pm, while our Minor Academy footballers travel to Lissycasey on Wednesday evening at 7pm.
The hurlers had fantastic support from the sidelines during the week, so please come out again next week and get behind all the lads.
The Clare Credit Unions Camogie Championship gets underway this weekend, with Éire Óg proudly represented by two adult teams this year by our Intermediate team and our Junior C team.

Please note, following consultation with camogie playing members (U12 and upwards), it was decided that our Intermediate camogie team only will wear navy shorts/skorts for an initial term of three years. All other teams will continue wearing their red shorts/skorts.
*U14s* A big congratulations to our U14 championship team who secured their place in the semi finals last Wednesday evening with an impressive victory over Kilmaley in Éire Óg.
The girls have put in some fantastic performances throughout the championship and fully deserve their place in the semi finals.
Semi finals currently scheduled for Saturday, 29th August with full details to follow.

Our U12s are currently in the middle of their Go-Games league, with 4 rounds played and 3 to go.
Next up, the girls travel to take on Clooney Quin this Saturday before hosting Broadford Bodyke and St. Joseph’s in Éire Óg in September for the final two rounds.
*U10s*
Our U10 girls enjoyed a great mini blitz with Kilmaley last Wednesday evening.
The girls continue to get stronger and stronger, with some very impressive skills and teamwork on display.
A big thank you to Kilmaley for joining us and making it such a lovely evening of camogie.
Ladies Football
*U8s* had a great set of challenge games vs Banner in Éire Óg - super skills passing and comradery (followed by some treats!). No training Saturday due to Camogie blitz in Éire Óg. *U10s* are out in Crusheen this Sunday at their next blitz - best of luck to Cormac and the rest of the management and girls.
*U12s* had two great Peil na Cailini finals in Caherloan – it’s is brilliant to see so many girls playing at this age for Éire Óg.
*U14s* kick off their championship with Round 1 on the 20th of August - best of luck girls!
*Junior* and *Senior* teams continue their championship this weekend with the Junior team out Vs Wolfe Tones on Sunday evening @ 7.30pm in Shannon and Seniors v Kilmurry Ibrickane @ 2pm in Éire Óg.
Her Sport Workshop
A huge thank you to Ailish Considine for coming to Éire Óg to facilitate the Her Sport workshop.
Unfortunately, the workshop was not as well attended as we had hoped, however, for those who did attend, Ailish shared some really eye-opening informative and valuable insights around girls and women in sport.
We would like to thank Ailish for giving her time and sharing her experience and knowledge with us. We hope to build on this and create more opportunities for our young female players to learn, develop and feel supported in sport.
