Adult Club Championships
Well done to our senior footballers who saw off the challenge of Doora Barefield last weekend to join the hurlers in securing their place in the semi finals. Our flagship camogie team are also in a semi after a very impressive showing at the group stages and will meet Sixmilebridge next weekend, while our newly formed junior camogie team have made it to the shield semis with their game to take place on the 11th. Our junior ladies are going well and play their last round game this weekend and the hope is a win there would help them reach the knockout stages. Our Junior C footballers had a good win over the Banner at the weekend, they have one round to play and the outcome of that plus results from other group games will seal their fate.
Not all good news however, as our Junior B footballers bowed out last weekend having fallen foul to a late burst from Miltown in their quarter final on Sunday. Hard luck to John and his crew who will reflect on an positive year overall for them.
Our intermediate hurlers and senior ladies team face into relegation battles this weekend, hopefully they get over the line to secure their grades for 2027.
The adult action this weekend begins on Saturday when our Intermediate hurlers travel to Kilmaley to take on Doora Barefield in a relegation final. All quiet then till Sunday with a glut of games with our junior B & C hurlers and Junior & senior ladies teams out in action before we hit to the Park where our senior hurlers take on Inagh Kilnamona in the semis. We will be looking for your help to get our teams over the line in their bids to continue progressing in their respective championships. It will be winter long enough so ensure to get your colours and voice out and support as many teams as possible!

Healthy Clubs
The countdown is on now to the New York trip for our Gaelic for Mothers n Others team. They have been training hard and head to Shannon on Saturday afternoon to take part in a blitz where they have games aplenty v Geata Gaels, Na Piarsaigh and Mungret. Kick off is 3pm, be sure to pop down to support if possible. Best of luck ladies.
Academy
It’s another busy week for our Academy teams, with plenty of football and hurling action taking place across the age groups.
Our Minor footballers were involved in a very close and competitive game against Kildysart/Coolmeen last weekend. Unfortunately, the result didn’t go their way, but the lads had already done enough during the campaign to secure their place in the top four. They will now look forward to taking on Ennistymon on Saturday, 3rd October.
Before that, the Minors turn their attention to hurling this weekend as they welcome Cratloe to Éire Óg on Saturday morning, with the game throwing in at 10.30am. A positive result would help the lads cement a quarter-final place, so all support would be greatly appreciated. Best of luck to the players and management.
Our U14 footballers also have an important game this weekend as they travel to Quilty on Sunday morning to take on Kilmurry Ibrickane. A win will see the lads qualify for an A semi-final, so we wish the players and management the very best of luck.
Our U12s continue their Go Games this week and are on the road this evening as they travel to Sixmilebridge. We hope all the players enjoy their game and get another opportunity to put the skills they have been developing at training into action.
There’s a particularly exciting weekend ahead for our U8s. They travel to Whitegate for a blitz on Saturday, where they will get plenty of game time and an opportunity to enjoy their hurling with their teammates. They will also have the fantastic experience of taking to the field at half-time during the County semi-final between Éire Óg and Inagh Kilnamona. Please give these future Éire Óg boys and girls stars a huge cheer and show them plenty of support as they enjoy their moment on the pitch!
Our U10s are also in action on Sunday morning when Éire Óg hosts their blitz. It’s another great opportunity for the boys to showcase their skills, enjoy plenty of football and represent the club. Best of luck to everyone taking part.
Academy Training Update
A reminder to all parents and players that Academy training now takes place at the earlier time of 6pm–7pm on Monday and Friday evenings to allow for the fading light as we move further into autumn.
There is a huge amount happening throughout our Academy and across the wider club every week, and none of it would be possible without our volunteer coaches and all those who give their time behind the scenes.
Our volunteers are the lifeblood of Éire Óg. Without people willing to give their time, whether that's coaching a team, helping at training, organising matches or lending a hand in any number of other ways, we simply wouldn't have a club.
If you would like to get involved, we would love to have you. You don't need to have years of coaching experience, and no contribution is too small. Whatever time or skills you can give, there is a place for you in the club and your help will make a real difference to our young players.
As always, thank you to all our players, parents, families, coaches, volunteers and supporters for everything you do. Please continue to support all our teams in a positive and sporting manner and show respect to players, coaches, opposition teams and match officials at all times.

Our U16s have played 2 rounds of their championship and lost both so far. Round 3 this Sat v Cratloe in Cratloe at 11:30am.

Our U12 girls have now completed their 7 round mini league, finishing off a fantastic run of games last weekend on the Harty pitch.
The girls have shown great commitment, teamwork and improvement throughout the league, and it has been brilliant to see them develop and enjoy their camogie along the way. Management are planning some friendly challenge games before the season comes to an end.

Our U10s hosted Salthill Knocknacarra last weekend as well as the Banner, followed by a lovely mingle in the clubhouse afterwards for some refreshments. They have 2 county board blitzes left before the end of the season; this Sunday they travel to Parteen for their September blitz.
*U8s*
U8s have 1 more blitz mid October before finishing up for the season. They recently had a morning out in Ruan for their September blitz.
*U6s*
Last session this Saturday before finishing for the season. It’s been great to see the astro so busy on Saturday mornings with so many girls learning the basics of camogie and LGFA. We hope the girls enjoyed the season and look forward to welcoming them back in Spring.

Astro Lighting
Thanks to Rory Hickey (Electrical) who spent today installing with new LED lights for the Astro. The lights were purchased using funding from the Climate Action grant. The reminder of the grant will be used to install a new front door at the clubhouse and also to replace some windows.
