Another week and another Senior County Final, what a magic time it is to be a part of this club. A hearty congratulations to Gerry O’Connor, his management & backroom team, to all the players from starters to subs to panel members. It was a great honour to see Captain David Reidy lift the Canon Hamilton Cup and return it to Clonroadmore after a 35 year hiatus, and what a reception the team got on arrival. Some great photos from Cusack Park can be found here on Mike Brennan’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/mike.brennan.9659283
After a whirlwind week we turn to refocus on the big ball. We have 6 starters listed for Sunday’s Senior Football Final that also started in last week’s game, and they along with the other 8 dual players must be commended for their self-discipline and commitment to preparations for this weekend’s final.
The build up has continued strongly this week with hats and flags flying off the shelves. Nothing like a local derby and banter levels are high with opposing flags toe to toe in various locations around!
This week the senior game is preceded by the Intermediate final pairing of Cooraclare and Corofin. That game starts at 1.15.
Be sure to get in early to greet our seniors who are due on the pitch shortly before 3pm. At 3 the Jubilee Team will be honoured on the pitch. The 2000 winners were Éire Óg, ably managed by John Hickey, Noel Normoyle RIP and Noel Loughman. The team has many very familiar faces, make sure to give them a rousing reception when they hit the field! At half time our U10s are back in action playing in the mini blitz.
Ticket link is below, ensure to purchase your tickets early to avoid a rush on the website, and of course buying online offers a discount on gate prices. NB* tickets for the seated stand/sideline area can only be purchased online. Give a hand to any technophobes that may find the online purchase tricky. A reminder that there is a charge for juvenile stand/sideline tickets only. All terraces are free for juveniles, however you must book a free ticket for them when booking your own ticket.
Match day programmes are available in Spar Turnpike, Heaslip’s O’Connell St., and Coote’s Shop Kilrush Road. They cost €5 and must be paid by cash. A word of thanks to those that sponsored ads for the club in the programme and also in the local newspapers.
Wishing the very best to Shane, his management team and all of the lads on the day. Bring all of your flags, colour and fanfare and get behind our lads. See ye on Sunday! Come on the Townies
A celebration event is being held for the 2000 Jubilee team this evening in Éire Óg. The team will arrive from 7 for chats and food and from 9pm you are invited to come along to while the evening away, the 2000 final v Doonbeg will be on the screen and there will be live music on the night. A great night is on the cards! See below the team lineout from back in the day.

A leithéad de bhua a bhí ag na hiománaithe an Domhnach seo caite. Cad é mar thaispeántas iománaíóchta, laochra ó cheann ceann na páirce agus an bua thar a bheith tuillte acu. Beidh cuimhne air go fada an lá, gorta 35 bliana sásaithe acu, beagnach fiche bliain idir an imreoir ba shine agus an leaid ab óige. Ard mholadh dóibh uil e agus ar ndóigh dá mbainistíócht, Gerry O'Connor, Ronan Keane agus a gcomhleacaithe-rinne sibh éacht a mbeidh cuimhne air i bhfad ar aghaidh.
Anois don dúbailt!! Gach rath ar na peileadóirí sinsear an Domhnach seo chughainn i gcoinne Dubhrach Gort Lomáín, 'An Paróiste' mar a thugann siad féin air, cé go bhfuil dhá pharóiste i gceist. Má imríonn Éire Óg mar is féidir leo, beidh Corn Sheáin Uí Dhalaigh ar ais i dtaobagán an chlub tráthnóna Dé Domhnaigh, ach beidh iarracht dáiríre ag teastáil. Go néirí go geal leo! Éire Óg abú.

All at Éire Óg were saddened to hear of the passing of long-standing and loyal member John O'Dea. The well known and popular publican was an avid supporter to the club, a friend to many, and a great supporter of our fundraising efforts and senior teams, in particular the hurling side of the house. It is poignant that John left us in the hours after Sunday's final. John will be missed by many, a lovely man, witty, great company, a great historian of the town and parish. We offer our condolences to his brother Mick, sisters Annie & Claire, extended family and many friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h'anam.
